Terms of Use
Last updated: June 24, 2026
By using SOP Chef (“the site”, “we”, “our”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
What SOP Chef is
SOP Chef is a free website that provides restaurant and food-service standard operating procedure (SOP) templates, checklists, guides, and educational articles. The site is intended for general operational guidance only.
Not professional advice
Templates and content are starting points, not compliance guarantees. Nothing on SOP Chef constitutes food safety, health, legal, employment, or other professional advice. Food service regulations vary by city, county, and state: always adapt procedures to your operation and follow your local health code.
Before relying on any checklist for inspection readiness or staff training, consult qualified professionals (e.g. ServSafe-certified managers, your health department, or legal counsel).
Accuracy
We make reasonable efforts to keep templates and articles accurate and up to date. However, we make no warranty: express or implied: that any checklist, temperature range, procedure, or statement on the site is complete, correct, or current for your jurisdiction or concept.
No warranties
The site is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SOP Chef and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of, or inability to use: the site, any template, PDF export, or checklist result. This includes, without limitation, losses arising from health inspection outcomes, food safety incidents, or operational decisions based on site content.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute the site’s content at scale without permission
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, modify, or interfere with the site’s functionality
- Misrepresent SOP Chef templates as official regulatory documents
- Use the site in any way that violates applicable law
Intellectual property
All content, design, and code on SOP Chef is owned by or licensed to SOP Chef unless otherwise noted. You may use templates for your own restaurant operations, share links to the site, and quote brief excerpts with attribution. Reproducing entire template libraries or pages for commercial redistribution without permission is not allowed.
Third-party content and links
Guides and blog posts may reference external sources (FDA Food Code, National Restaurant Association, health authorities). Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience: we do not endorse and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms at any time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
